Fiction:
The vaccine is only available for U.S. citizens.

Emilio Buitrago

Fact:
You can get the vaccine no matter your immigration status.

A bit more on this

COVID-19 doesn’t care about your immigration status. All it wants to do is hijack your healthy cells.

Making sure that ALL people living in the U.S. can get the vaccine is important for us to get this virus under control. That’s why the Department of Homeland Security and other government partners fully support equal vaccine access for undocumented immigrants — plus it’s the right thing to do.

And don’t forget that the vaccine is FREE for everyone in the U.S. regardless of citizenship status.

Fiction:
You have to pay and share personal information to get a vaccine appointment.

Emilio Buitrago

Fact:
Anyone who asks for money to put you on a list or make an appointment for you is a scammer.

A bit more on this

The COVID-19 vaccine is FREE to all people living in the U.S. If someone tells you they can get you a vaccine appointment for a fee, that’s a scam.

Sure, you may be asked for your health insurance information if you have it so that your insurance company (including Medicaid) can be billed for the cost. But it’s not allowed for YOU to be charged out-of-pocket costs like copays or deductibles.

If you think someone’s scamming you, call the Bureau of Consumer Protection at 800-441-2555 or report it to the Pa. Attorney General using this complaint form.
