There are many COVID-19 vaccine rumors circulating these days. Delco Ambassador Rosetta Carter confronts the FICTION that vaccines costs money, are available online, and cause allergic reactions in people with egg allergies.

Fiction Guy

Fiction:
The COVID-19 vaccine is expensive.

Rosetta Carter

Fact:
The vaccine is free for everyone.

A bit more on this

COVID-19 vaccines are FREE! That’s right, free. That includes all people, regardless of immigration status or health insurance coverage.

It doesn’t matter whether you get the shot at a clinic, retail pharmacy or a vaccination site. No matter what anyone tells you, no — you CAN’T buy COVID-19 vaccines online, and you shouldn’t have any out-of-pocket costs. So that’s one less barrier to getting it done!

And don’t forget: Never share your personal, financial or health information with people you don’t know.

Fiction Guy

Fiction:
I’m allergic to eggs. I can’t get the vaccine.

Rosetta Carter

Fact:
If you are allergic to eggs, you CAN get the vaccine. And every person who gets the vaccine is monitored to make sure they have no allergic reaction.

A bit more on this

We hate it when Fiction gets more attention than Fact. Trust the Allergy & Asthma Network when they tell it to you straight.

The vaccines don’t contain eggs — so even if you’re allergic to eggs, you’re all good.

Worried about having some other type of bad reaction to the vaccine? Every person is monitored to make sure they have no reaction before they leave. That’s the kind of attention we DO like!
